Common Courtesy

I have been scheduling quite a few massages lately, through out the clinics, my own time and co massage therapists time... however, there's always a few people that seem to forget they had an appointment. Its frustrating that some clients don't have the common courtesy to pick up the phone and say hey, sorry i cant make it. I would be considerate and try to reschedule them. Its the ones that take advantage of "FREE" things in life i suppose. It actually hurts, i am beginning to take it personally. Which i know you cant really do. but its disrespect, lack of courtesy, and just mean if you ask me.
I completely understand 100% if something comes up. hey when life hits us, it just does we cant do anything to stop it. but i really wish that clients would call or email me just to let me know. then i can call the clients on my waiting list and see if they can come into the vacant spot.
It was fine at first, i kept blowing it off and blowing it off again and again. but after awhile, i just cant blow it off anymore. I usually tend to call the person/client to say hey, did you remember you had an appointment with me about 20 minutes ago? most, not all will say ohhh i forgot.
I just find it really hard to forget when i make remember calls the day before.
but hey, we are all human. we all make mistakes i understand.
i will remain positive about this and try to move forward. Maybe come up with ideas of implementing rules in place: for instance, please try to make a 24 hr notice of cancellation otherwise you will be charged for this visit.
or something on that order. I want to try to take credit card numbers immediately so that when they do no show me i can just charge it to their credit card. maybe that will make them more reliable. i don't know. I want it to work out something, somehow... of making sure this is not a huge future issue. its a quite small issue now, but just wait, it could become much worst especially with the economy.
I have my fingers crossed.
And if you are a prospective client, present client, friend or family- realize that it is very difficult when it comes to running your own business, however definitely worth it in the end. I am thankful to all of you who have called me in advance or emailed me with your concerns. I am very grateful to those who are so wonderful in this world with their basic manners.

but remember all- no matter if you late, if you are a no show, I cant just not see you. My heart and soul goes out to help you. But new rules may be implemented soon in order to stop this massive absenteeism.
